I was recommended to Jennie by one of her friends whose honeymoon I had recently arranged. After an initial chat, I was honoured and excited that they wanted me to plan their special trip.
With the significant distance, French Polynesia is not somewhere that I get to book very often but I was confident that by staying on two islands, this once in a lifetime trip would exceed their expectations...
Our dream honeymoon destination was Bora Bora, the small South Pacific island near to Tahiti in French Polynesia. However we were bordering on the “would be incredible but doubt that our budget will cover it” side of the internal debate.
Calling Amanda to get her advice, consider our options and help us organise whatever we decided was a no brainer. We left it with her for a couple of days.
We were more than a little excited when she called back with good news – we were not only going to Bora Bora, but she had found some options for us to tie in another French Polynesian island too!
We settled on six nights in Mo'orea and six in Bora Bora. And as we had the arduous task of flying in and out of LA, we booked three nights there to break up our journey on the way home!
The whole adventure really was everything we could have hoped for and much more. Mo'orea and Bora Bora totally blew us away and whet our appetite for one day vowing to see some of the other islands.
We had a lovely garden villa with a private pool in Mo'orea and saved the dreamy water bungalow for the Pearl Beach Resort in Bora Bora.
Both islands were unreal and beyond our wildest imagination with the whitest sand we have ever seen, and snorkelling was like being in a giant tropical fish tank.
The staff at both hotels couldn't do enough, with a few lovely touches, including champagne left in our room on arrival. The concierges provided great recommendations for local restaurants, booking everything for us and even providing complimentary transport there and back.
We did a couple of exhilarating jet ski trips on both islands, not quite brave enough to have one each, preferring to share the experience. Our guide met us at the hotel jetty with our jet ski and life jackets and then took us around the island to the best places for swimming with the rays and reef sharks - it was incredible.
Amanda’s suggestion to spend a final few days in Los Angeles on our way home was a super one and rounded things off perfectly.
I really can't recommend both this trip and Amanda highly enough - she really did make our dream honeymoon a reality!
