Client Blog: The Eyre family in Lapland

I have booked some amazing holidays for Jason and Julie which have included a family Silversea cruise, and a week in Dubai shortly before the pandemic hit. They had loved the Finest Playa Mujeres in Mexico so much in 2019 that they were due to return in February 2021 with additional family members, which Covid sadly put a stop to.

When Julie was looking for a family Lapland Santa break, I knew straight away the one that would be right for them. There are so many companies offering a range of Lapland experiences, but Canterbury includes all the meals, 90 minutes for both dog sledding and reindeer sleigh rides, snowmobiling drives and much more.

Most important though is a private family meeting with Santa who magically just happens to have the child’s Christmas list and a gift from it - a lovely touch.

Receiving the family’s feedback confirmed it was the right trip for them...

What a most magical experience! From the moment we checked in at Manchester Airport to returning, everything was first class.

The destination was just beautiful and so picturesque. Pyhan Asteli is a traditional, remote and secluded hamlet in a national park situated 136km north of the Artic Circle in Finnish Lapland.

The accommodation was perfect. The cosy, rustic, charming log cabins are surrounded by trees and have log fires and central heating ensuring warmth. They were clean and functional with two bedrooms, a kitchenette and even a sauna.

Meals are taken in the restaurant, which is a short walk away, and we also had the unexpected bonus of being able to see the Northern Lights from our cabin.

The trips were exceptional, fun, and special not just for our grandson, son and daughter, but for the adults too. The husky ride was exhilarating and the daily build-up to finding Santa was fantastic.

Our rep Laura was amazing - very informative - and she certainly added to the whole adventure.

All in all, the trip was the best experience we have had as a family and we haven’t stopped telling everybody about it - no words can express how good it was.

Thank you so much Amanda, you always do us proud, and this was something we will never forget.

Kind regards,

Jason and Julie
